Taliban didn't fire a bullet during ceasefire, claims Shahid

MIRANSHAH: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said that the militant group did not fire a single bullet during ceasefire, ARY News reports from Miranshah.

Speaking to media from an unknown location, Taliban spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid said that the militant group can launch defensive attacks on government offices and buildings.

He also said that the federal government did not accept any of the conditions on which the peace process had to go forward. Shahidullah Shahid apprehended that some forces can launch attacks on public places after Taliban refused to extend ceasefire.

Shahidullah Shahid, further speaking on the occasion, stated that the federal government had lodged a root-out operation against Taliban militants. He added that Pakistani government kept the war-atmosphere alive during the ceasefire.

He added that there is no infighting in Taliban groups and the militant faction is ready to continue negotiations if the Pakistani government is serious.
