ISLAMABAD: A 14-member bench of the Supreme Court dismissed Pervez Musharraf's review petition against the apex court decision in PCO judges case on July 31st, 2009, ARY News reported on Thursday.
The bench headed by Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, comprises of 14 judges.
The court declared the plea of the former president as non-maintainable, which has been submitted more than four years after the decision of the apex court.
Earlier, during the hearing Sharifuddin Pirzada argued that unconstitutional steps had been taken several times in the country’s past and the judiciary had allowed these steps on important issues.
To substantiate his claims, Pirzada gave examples of Canada and India where emergency had been imposed.
Justice Jawad S Khawaja asked if the Article 6 was also applicable in Canada, to which Pirzada responded that not in Canada but in few other countries it was applicable.
