KARACHI: Senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Dr. Farooq Sattar said that Pakistan Protection Ordinance (PPO) is a black law which reminds the country of martial law, ARY News reports from Karachi.
Speaking to ARY News, MQM leader Dr. Farooq Sattar said that if the PPO was introduced during martial law then we could say that a military dictator is dictating its terms on power but the ordinance cannot be accepted during a democratic regime.
He also said that there is a difference between a strict law and a black law. "Our suggested amendments in the PPO were rejected", he added. MQM leader further said that no culture and democratic system allows shoot at sight orders.
