Irum Azeem Farooque, an MQM MPA, in her tweet on Wednesday, claimed that she was being threatened by MQM USA workers. She added that she has the evidence and will report those involved.

Citing attack on media and chanting anti-state slogans during the party’s hunger strike in Karachi, as reasons for her resignation, Mrs Farooqui said that she had already resigned two days ago but didn’t disclose it because of the party’s ongoing hunger strike.

“Pakistan Zindabad, I condemn those who call it Murdababad,” Irum tweeted later on.
