Sindh beat Islamabad in Pakistan Cup match

Sindh led by skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed had set a mammoth target of 337 runs for the Misbah-XI.

Openers Khurram Manzoor and Sami Aslam provide Sindh a mighty first wicket stand. Both shared 196 runs for the first wickets in 27 overs. Manzoor remained top scorer with 123 runs knock in 90 balls.

Sami Aslam made 75 runs with the help of seven boundaries and one six. Khalid Latif hit unbeaten 62 runs off 64 balls. He hit three sixes and two boundaries in his innings.

Islamabad batsmen were under immense pressure and could not survive pressure. Misbah also couldn’t play a match winning knock. The skipper had been under stern criticism for failing to take responsibility in big matches and was often bashed for sluggish batting approach.

 

Sindh and Islamabad both started their Pakistan Cup 2016 campaign on winning note.

Sindh defeated Balochistan by 42 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis Method while Islamabad had beat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by two runs under the (D/L method) as well.

Centuries by Khurram Manzoor and Sami Aslam played a crucial role in Sindh’s victory in their match against Balochistan.

On the other hand, Islamabad side will be relying on their skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal, Sharjeel Khan and Nasir Jamshed in the match.

Islamabad and Sindh are at second and fourth place respectively with two points each.

Sindh XI: Khurram Manzoor, Sami Aslam, Khalid Latif, Sohaib Maqsood, Fawad Alam, Sarfraz Ahmed (captain), Bilal Asif, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Amir, Sohail Khan and Hasan Khan.

Islamabad XI: Kamran Akmal, Sharjeel Khan, Nasir Jamshed, Iftikhar Ahmed, Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Imran Khalid, Hammad Azam, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Sami, Mohammad Abbas and Mohammad Irfan.
