Pakistan Railways suspends operations in Sindh

KARACHI: Pakistan Railways (PR) has suspended its operations all over the scene due to uncertain law and order situation of the province post arrest of the Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain in London – ARY News reports.

According to details, Pakistan Railways has stopped all the trains which were to move from Karachi to up-country. These trains have been stopped at the nearest stations until further orders. The decision was made in the wake of uncertain law and order situation of the entire province, especially Karachi, after the reports claiming the arrest of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain poured in.

Soon after the news hit media, a wave of chaos swept across the province and businesses were closed, while thousands of MQM workers took to the party secretariat, Nine-Zero, in order to get the first hand information about their leader and express solidarity with him.

MQM leaders have advised the party workers to remain calm and to stay united. They urged the workers to stay connected with the party leadership and to remain peaceful.

MQM leader, Farooq Sattar also urged the workers to keep a watch on the miscreants and not to let anybody exploit the situation and spread panic.
