“If the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) cannot safeguard us then we should be allowed to defend ourselves,” said MQM leader Farooq Sattar while addressing a protest sit-in at the Mazar-e-Quaid.

He said MQM was being cornered to ‘hand over Karachi to armed people’.

Sattar claimed that over 50 activists were killed extra-judicially, while 200 fell victim to target killing and over 135 were missing. He said that we want supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law.

Mayor-elect for Karachi, Waseem Akhtar said that they have apprised the Rangers and police of real terrorists in the city.

The party leaders and activists also lit candles to pay tribute to slain party workers.
