Renowned television actor Hamza Ali Abbasi on Friday said that he will take part in Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) November 2 protest demanding PM’s accountability even if it means an end to his media career, ARY News reported.
In a Facebook post, the Pyare Afzal actor lamented that Pakistan’s current system could not ‘punish a man who holds the highest public office and whose corruption has been proved by documented evidence’ even after eight months of Panama papers which means ‘giving a free license to the powerful people to do whatever they want with zero accountability’.
“I am not a politician, not an office bearer of PTI neither do i want any election ticket. As a PAKISTANI i will be a part of 2nd November Movement even if it means an end to my media career and my fan base,” said Hamza.
Hamza is staunch supporter of Imran Khan and remained a part of PTI in past, he also took part in rallies and sit-ins organised by the party including the recent Raiwind March. Hamza also faces possible arrest if he makes his way to Bani Gala to participate in the protest.
Earlier, famous singer Salman Ahmed was arrested outside the residence of Imran Khan in Islamabad but he managed to escape.
