Flood alert issued as water level rises in rivers

According to details, the flow of water exceeded from 1, 70, 000 cusecs at Head Marala, Sialkot, following which flood warning was issued to nearby villages and towns.

At Chashma Barrage, water flow crossed 3, 20, 000 cusecs posing flood threat to low-lying areas.

Meanwhile, the dyke of Manjh Wati Canal in Baluchistan broke inundating crops at 250 acres of land. Mid-level flood is being witnessed in Kabul River at Warsak and Naushera, where the flow of water was recorded to be 89, 300 cusecs.

In River Indus, low-level flood is being observed at Kherabad, whereas the water level is rapidly rising at Guddu Barrage, Sukkur, due to which an alert has been issued.

The local administration in order to keep check on the situation has also cancelled holidays of officials of the Irrigation Department.
