According to details, Dr. Asim was produced before an ATC on Monday afternoon, where the investigation officer requested the court for another five-day remand of the PPP leader.
ATC judge when inquired Dr. Asim whether he was mistreated under custody, the latter burst out saying, “What happened during interrogation that’s another tale, I submit myself here if they wish to kill me”.
“I was subjected to brutality during interrogation and will be devoured alive,” the PPP leader said, requesting the court to serve him justice.
Rejecting all allegations against him, Dr. Asim Hussain denied any statement admitting terrorists’ treatment at his hospital.
He added that his wife is a cancer patient, who is forced to visit courts and police stations every now and then.
“I was taken to my own hospital with hands cuffed,” he said, while explaining his miseries. “The tiff is with someone else, but I am being victimized.”
“At times I am lured, while threatened on other instances,” he added.
Meanwhile, the investigation officer requested the court to grant another five-day remand of Asim.
At this, Dr. Asim’s lawyer intervened objecting that the testimonies of witnesses were recorded without informing the court.
The court after listening to the arguments remanded Dr. Asim Hussain in custody for five days and directed the investigation officer to apprise it of progress in the case on next hearing.
