ISLAMABAD: A meeting of federal cabinet on Friday endorsed the decisions of the Cabinet Committee for National Security, ARY News reported on Friday.
The cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, approved the decisions of the national security committee including the dialogue with Taliban.
The cabinet deliberated over a seven-point agenda. The meeting endorsed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) policy, import of 100 megawatt electricity from Iran and MoUs with different countries.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif decided to personally monitor all mega projects of Balochistan as the cabinet decides to allocate Rs. 1.6 billion for development of the province.
The cabine also approved setting up terminals in Karachi for LNG import. In a briefing the cabinet was informed that the storage capacity will be initially 200 MMCFD gas per day, the capacity however will be enhanced to 400 MMCFD in the second phase.
The terminal will be completed within one year and the first consignment of LNG will reach Pakistan in 2015, the meeting informed.
