ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced the bidding result of Round-7 for 3G spectrum auction, the bids have remained same as previous three rounds, ARY News reported.
According to PTA Chairman, Dr. Ismail Shah following the conclusion of bids for 3G spectrum, winners of 4G spectrum will be announced as well.
Chairman also revealed that there would be another round, round 8 – as per rules. However, nothing is changing and hence PTA has decided to stretch the time for the bidding.
Sources said that Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Minister for IT and Telecom, Anusha Rehman is due to come as well around 7:15 PM.
There were four lots of 3G spectrum on which auction carried, among which two are of 10Mhz and two of 5Mhz.
It is expected that we will have four operators getting one lot each, or one operator winning more than 2 lots. In any case, Government will generate US 902.82 million dollars from 3G auction.
